The Republic Public Prosecutor solemnly opened the Office of the Liaison Prosecutor of the Republic of Serbia at Eurojust

The Republic Public Prosecutor Zagorka Dolovac today in the Netherlands, in The Hague, together with the President of Eurojust, Mr. Ladislav Hamran, solemnly opened the permanent Office of the Liaison Prosecutor of the Republic of Serbia at Eurojust, thereby rounding off the multi-year efforts of the Republic Public Prosecutor's Office, together with other competent authorities of the Republic of Serbia, invested in establishing direct cooperation with this most important judicial network for criminal justice cooperation of the European Union.

The Republic Public Prosecutor Zagorka Dolovac expressed her belief that the opening of this office, which establishes the permanent presence of the Serbian liaison prosecutor in this institution of the European Union, represents an event of first-class importance for our country within the process of the EU accession and that it represents recognition for the excellent results of the Republic Public Prosecutor’s Office that were achieved in international cooperation with the prosecution offices and courts of the member states of the European Union.

The President of Eurojust, Mr. Ladislav Hamran, praised the past cooperation and commitment of the Serbian public prosecution to work together to combat crime affecting the European Union and the Republic of Serbia, and pointed out that in terms of cooperation with Eurojust Serbia was for years at the very top of non-EU member states, expressing his belief that the opening of this office of the Serbian prosecution in The Hague will contribute to the further improvement of our close cooperation, given that from today the prosecutors of Serbia and of the member states of the European Union have the possibility of direct and immediate communication and coordination of criminal prosecution in the cases in which they act.
