Prosecutorial Practice Department

The Department for Prosecutorial Practice carries out tasks and activities under the competence of the General Public Prosecution related to monitoring and analyzing the practice of the public prosecution and the courts in the Republic of Serbia, as well as the practice of international courts and the work of international organizations, especially in the field of human rights protection, including the right to a trial within a reasonable time, produces and creates the content of the internal database of prosecutorial practice and the informative and professional newsletter of the General Public Prosecution and conducts activities related to the harmonization of public prosecution practice, through the drafting of general acts and instructions issued by the Prosecutor General and informing lower instance public prosecutor’s offices of the adopted legal interpretations.


Also, the Department for Prosecutorial Practice participates in specialist training of the department and contact points for prosecutorial practice in lower instance public prosecutor’s offices, as well as in other projects aimed at prosecutorial practice harmonization, in cooperation with the OSCE Mission and the Council of Europe Office in Belgrade.
