Francuska Ambasada

The Republic Public Prosecutor’s Office has had an exceptional long-standing co-operation with the Embassy of the Republic of France, both through direct communication and co-operation in the field of international legal assistance with the judicial liaison officers at the French Embassy and as a part of the projects related to the rule of law such as the project for specialisation and co-operation with the non-governmental organisations in criminal prosecution cases involving human trafficking.

As a part of this project against human trafficking, with the support of the French Embassy, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed on 13 September 2012 with the non-governmental organisation ASTRA for the purpose of enhancing the information exchange, co-operation and co-ordination during the criminal proceedings, which represents institutionalisation of the co-operation with the NGO sector in accordance with the international standards and the first memorandum in the region signed by the public prosecutor’s office and an NGO in the field of combating human trafficking. Furthermore, in 2012, specialisation was introduced in the public prosecutor’s office by introducing contact points in the higher public prosecutor’s offices for dealing with and coordinating the work on cases related to human trafficking. As a part of this project, with the support of the French Embassy and other foreign partners, three seminars have been held for specialised prosecutors on the subject of combating human trafficking.

Finally, the co-operation with the French Embassy includes the organisation of working visits, so the Republic Public Prosecutor’s Office visited the judicial authorities of the Republic of France on 10 April 2012 and during the visit a Joint Declaration on Co-operation in Combating Organised Crime was signed, while on 1 July 2013, Disciplinary Prosecutor of the Republic of France visited the Republic of Serbia.
